The State Auditor General has reviewed FAMU's response to his preliminary audit and determined that university didn't sufficiantly challenge any of the 35 exceptions. All 35 findings still stand.

When FAMU submitted its response to the auditor on April 12th, former BOT Chair Challis Lowe said,"this is the best audit response I've seen since I've been on the board. Things are not as dire as we thought in the preliminary audit''.

Challis praises FAMU's repsonse

We'll go through the entire 68 page report first thing tomorrow a.m. and post the report after midnight.

  3. Q. What is a public record?
    A. The Florida Supreme Court has determined that public records are all materials made or received by an agency in connection with official business which are used to perpetuate, communicate or formalize knowledge. They are not limited to traditional written documents. Tapes, photographs, films and sound recordings are also considered public records subject to inspection unless a statutory exemption exists.

MAN!!!!! You or your father/mother MUST HAVE WRITTEN THIS LAW for Florida.

RN - YOU ROCK MAN! Thanks for keeping all of us updated. You're one of my favorite sources of information (your posts... not necessarily the readers' comments).

    MANY THANKS!!! "Z"

  4. I read this Anon. comment in another thread and I think it deserves some research. Check it out. Sounds like blantant outsourcing with no regard to actual FAMU employees.

Hey RN, can we get any information on the rumors that EIT is primarily made up of consultants and contractors? I even heard that consultants were hired as Directors under some "temp to perm" contract even after the BOT said that folks couldn't be hired in a Director's position or higher. I've even heard that the consultant agreement that EIT has been operating under is almost three years out-of-date and an updated one has not been executed by the General Counsel's Office.

Please tell me that this is just a rumor. Please tell me that FAMU employees aren't being sold out by their leadership for folks who have more loyalties to a dollar than to the betterment of FAMU.
