The Florida A&M Rattler Tennis team pulled off a stunning 4-3 upset of top-seeded and three-time defending champion South Carolina State here Saturday to reach Sunday's championship match in the 2007 MEAC Men's Tennis Championships.
The match which gets underway at 11:30 a.m. this monrning pits the Rattlers (17-10) against archnemesis, No. 2 se Hampton University. The Rattlers beat Hampton 4-3 during the regular season.
The women tennis team were elminated from the championship after lossing to SC State 4-0.
Baseball team takes two from UMES
The Florida A&M Rattler Baseball team continued their late season resurgence here Saturday, as they swept a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader, 7-1 and 5-1 from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).
Florida A&M (10-31, 6-5 in MEAC), has won five straight games and nine of their last 13 after a 1-27 start.
Maryland-Eastern Shore (7-33, 4-10) managed just 12 hits off Rattler pitching in Saturday's twinbill and two runs combined in 16 innings.
FAMU faces UMES again this afternoon.
