The Florida A&M baseball team pulled out a 11-9 decision over North Carolina A&T, Sunday afternoon here Moore-Kittles Field, winning two of the games in the three game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference series.
Joshua Rodriguez (1-0) got the win for FAMU giving up three hits and two earned runs in three innings of relief work, while Ronald Phelps (1-1) got loss for A&T, giving up five earned runs in one and one-third innings of relief.
The Rattlers picked up two runs in the bottom of the first on Jared Jeffries lead homer to left field, followed Corey McFadden scoring on a balk, giving FAMU a 2-0 lead.
A&T answered back in the top of third inning with three runs to take a 3-2 lead with a Joe McIntyre two-run RBI double to left field scoring both Nick May and Nelson Santos.
FAMU (3-28, 2-4 MEAC) was paced by McFadden by going three-for-three from the plate scoring four runs with one RBI. Gnat led the team in RBIs with three by going two-for-five from the plate for the Rattlers.
The loss dropped A&T to 9-17, 3-3 MEAC.
The Rattlers will return to action on Saturday, April 7, against Savannah State for a three games series with a double-header and will conclude on Sunday, April 8, with a single game starting at 1 p.m. on each day.
