The Florida A&M baseball team snapped their 22 game losing streak as they split a double-header against North Carolina A&T, winning game one, 8-4 and dropping the second game, 11-7, Saturday afternoon here at Moore-Kittles Field.

"This is a conference win and all these games matter. This is what it is all about. We can be one and whatever in non-conference as long as we win in the conference," said Head Baseball Coach Joe Durant.

Cirillo Manego, (2-4) picked up the win for the Rattlers going the distance, striking out six and giving up four earned runs in nine innings of work.

"We told him from the beginning he'd have to go the distance today. He played outstanding and has been our best pitcher all year. He's a bulldog on the mound, so we have gotta keep him going," said Durant.

FAMU picked a run in the bottom of the first inning to cut A&T's lead 2-1, when Stanley Gnat hit into a double-play scoring Jared Jeffries.

The Rattlers would plate three more runs in the eighth inning for a 8-4 final.

In a perfect effort from the plate, FAMU was led by Millan with three hits in three at-bats with two RBIs, scoring two runs.

A&T was led by both McIntyre and Kinnear with two hits each.

FAMU (2-28 1-4 MEAC) was led by Jared Grace finishing with two hits, Grace led the team in RBIs with two.

A&T (9-16, 3-2 MEAC) was led by Mayo with four hits and three RBIs, while Gamble collect two hits with two RBIs.

The Rattlers will conclude their three game series with the Aggies on today 1 at 1 p.m. at Moore-Kittles field.
