Usually, when someone like a university president retires the newspaper gives them their own "special seciton" or something. That hasn't happened yet with our friend, Castell Bryant so we'll give her the kind of attention she rightly deserves.
All day, we'll be taking a look back at her time as interim president.
Consider using the picture of Jimmy "JJ" Walker of the old tv series, Good Times. There is a strong resemblance. lol
ReplyDelete"The Team", should have actually been titled "band of theives"!
ReplyDeleteHow come you didn't use a picture of lucifer, the she-devil from hell?
ReplyDeleteSo many pictures of the ugly, ugly witch, I think I going to throw-up. Oops! Too late, I just....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
ReplyDeleteFeel better now.
Oh! L'm about to throw-up again ..........ahhhhhhhhhhhh!
Someone help!!! I can't take that ugly picture anymore. ...........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm on an empty stomach now. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Yes, Lord, I needed a laugh today.
ReplyDeleteWell i'm glad this North Korean style of dictatorship the too lie crew, (as in too many lies) tried to run our university with has finally fallen. I'm done with them folks. It's time to start working towards the future with Dr. Ammons. It's time to revitalize, and rebuild road of hope. That great orange and green road, which great doctors, lawyers, journalist, and teachers marched acrossed with that great FAMU pride in their hearts, and tools of wisdom in their hands. It's time to mend and heal wounds left open by precarious decisions. It's time to make what was tainted pure.We as RATTLERS must not look at ourselves as just a great HBCU, or university. No, we must look at ourselves as the sculptors of tomorrows knowledge; the educators of the worlds thinkers. I have always said that we can no longer refer to ourselves as the"The Highest on Seven Hills," for when you deal with hills no matter how high you are, people like T.K., Corbin, and Castell can run up and down you.
ReplyDeleteTo continue... When i look at FAMU, i don't see a hill. I see the kingdom on top of the mountian. A mountian that only the brave and determined can climb. So i ask you, are you willing to join hands with me and continue to climb this mountian, because its a new day for our kingdom FAMU, and we can't continue to build on without you. Of note- I wrote the note on my cell phone sorry the typos.
ReplyDeleteAmmons, you nex
ReplyDeleteAmmons legacy will be a legacy of pride. So don't even attempt to go there, ass kisser of Castell.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Evans pic makes me think that women with natural hair are supposed to be considered... unattractive I guess. Some may say I'm reaching but at the same time the effort was put forth to find a pic of Florida Evans to represent whatever it was supposed to. I'm sure not in a positive light.
ReplyDeleteIt just bothers me when we call women like her and Whoopi Goldberg ugly. They're not.
Have you all ever seen that documentary with the little Black girls who described their Black baby dolls as mean, ugly etc. while the White ones were good, pretty, more acceptable? If you think, speak, act towards our women the same way Imus did, you didn't have the audacity to get mad, did you?
Fabian, oh, Fabian...you're at it again, I see. It's me, your old friend, watching and reading...
ReplyDeleteFabian, oh, Fabian...you're at it again, I see. It's me, your old friend, watching and reading...
ReplyDeleteThe team picture is hilarious. You have the witch, bordered by three fairy-tales (June, Dunn and Little), a patridge in a pear tree (Austin) and the retired colonel guarding the rear.
ReplyDelete12:44--I, too, noticed the Florida Evans pix in the collage, and I, too, wondered if the inclusion was a statement about what defines beauty. Now, I'm almost certain that the picture was included to demean women of color who choose to wear their hair in the natural way. Florida Evans has always been considered a woman to be demeaned and made fun of because of her brown skin/natural hair style and forthright, no-nonsense demeanor. Are we saying, then, that she and Goldberg are not considered "attractive" because they do not fit the cultural stereotype of what defines beauty? I've always though Goldberg was attractive, intelligent and vocal, even though she may have slipped a few times in her career--especially when she engaged the white-face comedic gig with her ex, Ted Danson at the NY Friar's Club. But I digress here. Florida Evans is not a woman to be poked at and made fun of. Women of color (and appearance) like her opened avenues that many of Hollywood's women of color now enjoy. Be careful of the images that you present. I wear my hair natural, and I think it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteTo the one referred to as Fabian, there are no hidden messsages. ugly is ugly. color purple ugly is still color purple ugly.
ReplyDeleteCAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY THERE IS A FOCUS ON THE HAIR---ITS NOT ABOUT FLORIDA'S HAIR OR CASTELL'S HAIR---OR PRETTY OR UGLY--AS A MATTER OF FACT FORGET THE PICTURES---FOCUS ON PRAYING TO GOD TO GIVE AMMONS THE STRENGTH AND THE COURAGE TO LEAD US OUT THIS MESS THAT SHE AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HAVE SURELY PUT US IN AND NOW LEFT US------SO FORGET MOVING TO THE LEFT TO THE LEFT--LETS MOVE FORWARD---TOUCHING AND AGREEING WITH AMMONS FOR THIS UNIVERSITY TO BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN AND COME BACK WITH 7 TIMES WHAT WAS TAKEN FROM US! Hallelujah and let the multitude say AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI GOT TO CONTINUE WITH ONE OTHER THING---DO YOU SEE WHAT WE ARE DOING DIVIDING AGAIN--OVER PICTURES AND HAIR--------THIS IS JUST WHAT THE DEVIL WANTS-------WE CANNOT AT THIS POINT AFFORD TO BE DIVIDED WE GOT TO STAND TOGETHER OR WE WILL SURELY SURELY FALL!!!! COME ON LET'S NOT LOSE FOCUS ---- THE FOLKS WANT US DIVIDED--DON'T LET THEM DO IT!!! KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE---AND AMMONS IS THE PRIZE THAT GOD HAS GIVEN US TO LEAD US OUT!!!!
ReplyDeleteA change has come RN ------------ its been a long time coming!!!!!!! But a change done come!!!!
ReplyDeleteLike the newspaper editor said, you can support something and hold it to a standard at the same time. Besides, my observance of that doesn't waiver my support of Dr. Ammons or building an outstanding future for FAMU. But I feel you. Enough has been said about that. In the words of T.I., "Big thangs poppin' and little thangs stoppin'" :-)
ReplyDeleteI AM FEELIN YOUR POINT---JUST WANT TO MAKE THE POINT THAT WE GOT TO FOCUS--- SO THAT WE CAN MAKE THOSE BIG THINGS START POPPIN!!!!!!!!!! CAUSE THE CHANGE DONE CAME!!!
ReplyDeleteMy apologizes to Esther Rolle and women who wear natural hair. Mrs. Rolle's inclusion in the photo collage does not imply anything about beauty.
ReplyDelete2:34, you simply don't understand the social and political commentary of the Evans and Goldberg remarks. We're talking beauty, class, grace, demeanor...oh, what the heck, just forget it.
ReplyDeleteCan we all agree that now we can bury Castell (figuratively speaking) and let the worms take it from there. But, on the other hand, even the worms have some sense of morals and may not want to lower themselves to being the underworld maggots--eaters of rotten flesh-- which this administration was.
ReplyDeleteOh by the way. to the person who made the comments on the Team Picture about " ... bordered by three fairy-tales...." you just cracked me up. Think I broke some ribs laughing out loud. I'm still laughing on that one, plus the one on throwing up. You are a riot!! lol
RN--I accept your apology (and the reminder that the tv character's name was Esther Rolle). Sometimes we forget and fail to separate characters' names from their real identifications.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, Florida Evans/Esther Rolle was UNATTRACTIVE. I don't care what hairstyle she wore.
ReplyDeleteRN, you have made my day. Great job!!
ReplyDelete4:48, For the record, you're an idiot. I don't care what hairstyle YOU wear or don't wear, for that matter.

Dang, this is too funny. Someone please help me up off the floor.
Has anyone seen the picture of Castell on page 39 of FAMU's Journey Magazine. That picture needs to be posted. Truly that is the picture of a haggard witch.
ReplyDeleteyes, I have seen it and I'm throwing again ......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteWhy do I torture myself ....ahhhhhhhhhhhh
yes, I have seen it and I'm throwing up again ..ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteWhy do I torture myself ...ahhhhhhhhh
The mole Cast-Hell forced on the J-School quit yesterday. Good riddance!
ReplyDeletewho quit, 7:49?
ReplyDeleteI hope that ol' tired-assed Castell knows what it feels like to feel defeated. She was so damn gung-ho about not giving people their respectful due, now the dang-gone shoe is on the other foot, and I'm hoping she has time to reflect upon her horrendous treatment of people at the university. And when she reflects, I hope she feels lower than a snake's belly. Whatever miserable way she feels, it werves her sorry-ass right. I'm glad to see the heifer gone. Good, damn riddance. WTF took her so long?
ReplyDeleteRN THE DAM SNAKE LOOK BETTER THAN CASTELL
ReplyDeleteIf someone is ugly they're ugly. There are plenty of gorgeous sisters with natural hair and/or dark complexions like Alek Wek, Lauryn Hill, and my beautiful girlfriend (who has dreads). But Florida Evans is butt ugly, and we shouldn't have to walk on eggshells or be scared to say it because she has a natural. The picture was used to satirize and poke fun at Castell who deserves it. What, we can't say ANY sisters with naturals are unattractive now? That's an automatic "get out of ugly" free card? If that was the case and I was a woman who knew I was hit, I'd grow a fro so no one could ever insult me. lol
