Florida A&M University officials confirmed this morning that W. George Allen has resigned from the school's Board of Trustees.The Tallahassee Democrat called his law office in Fort Lauderdale, but he declined to comment.
He resigned in a letter to trustee chair C. William Jennings, FAMU Interim President Castell Bryant and Gov. Charlie Christ. The resignation was effective immediately.
"Good luck in your work for FAMU and its students," Allen wrote.

If you've not heard, Castell will be in Lee Hall until July 1st. She was asked to resign and was hand-delivered the document stating the request to do so. She refuses and will exercise the sixty-day termination/resignation clause in her contract. Ammons will come to the university as a consultant on June 1st. But we know that she will eventually be gone. And I believe that we can all start the countdown.
ReplyDeleteDo these people (Lowe, Allen, Castell) believed they were doing good for the University? These people need a reality check. If any institution is in a worst situation when you left then when you leave then that's considered being a failure.

The terms of Laura Branker and Leerie Jenkins expire in 2008. We need to start fighting to remove them, as well.

Thank goodness. She can keep the money, just as long as she LEAVES and don't have any more authority to make decisions.
has the board declared tht she will not longer have the authority to make decisions? just because she will no longer be in lee hall does not necessarily translate into her not being allowed to make university decisions. she can make them in her car or sitting on one of those boxes in her garage for all i care. where she sits when she's making them has less to do with the fact that she's still able to make them. my question: will the woman still have authority once she leaves the campus. that's the only thing that's realy important. hell she can sit on the rooftop of lee hall with the pigeons for all i care.
