The Rattlers snapped a four-game losing streak in front of a homecoming crowd of 23,984 fans and pulled out a 24-21 victory against the winless North Carolina A&T Aggies at Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday evening.
Senior Wesley Taylor, just a week after missing a potential game-winning kick against Morgan State, made a 33-yard field goal against the Aggies with 45 seconds left in the game. Taylor made three of his five field-goal attempts, including his final two.
Freshman quarterback Eddie Battle continued to earn more and more respect from his teammates and coaches. Battle completed 15 of 24 passes for a career-high 259 yards and two touchdowns.
FAMU racked up a season-high 572 yards of total offense.

ReplyDeleteRN - Can you confirm that Coach Carter job was on the line if we had lost homecoming?
ReplyDeleteThis was mentioned by more than several BOT members over the weekend.
If that is the case we are in trouble. Look at how Carter's players were playing, ie. all of the freshmen and sophomores. Even Keith Miles referenced how well and how many young guys were playing Saturday. By the way, the tent at the field house that had about 30 "big recruits;" also Carter's.
ReplyDeleteI say give the man his contract; if he doesn’t drastically improve next season, don't give an extension. A note on Camel starting homecoming, I think that was Carter being loyal to a former walk-on senior. Just my opinion.
bottom line...eddie battle IS the quarterback, snatch camel immediately and put him in the slot. despite his 2 ints, he clearly is more poised in the pocket then camel..
ReplyDeleteWe went toe-to-toe with an 0-25 team and were tied 21-21 with :50 left in the game. My how far we've fallen. We need to make some major changes as soon as the season is over. This is not representative of what our program should be, not even close.
