The FAMU Department of Social Work recently earned reaccreditation from the Council on Social Work Education Commission on Accreditation for full eight-year, rom 2006 to 2014, term for the bachelor of social work (BSW) and master of social work (MSW) programs. The program was initally accredited in 1974 and has 170 BSW majors and 43 MSW majors.

FAMU's Department of Social Work is a first-rate program. It definitely needs to become a college and add the Ph.D. degree.

ReplyDeleteThe black community has its share of issues just like the white community. The social work Ph.D.s produced by FAMU would be able to help out anywhere.

ReplyDeleteWhat can we as alumni do to help take FAMU's Social Work program from department to college status? Do they have an account in the FAMU foundation that we can send money to?
ReplyDeleteMaybe some alumni dollars can help give them an extra boost for the start-up costs necessary to become a college.
The FAMU College of Social Work sounds good to me.
