This was a disgrace!!!! This was not the BEST choice for FAMU's men basketball coach and I hope Dr. Ammons demands that all coaches WIN and that he will ax the losers as fast as he gave Carter the ax (which was a good thing)!
ReplyDeleteWait a minute before you say our men's team was a "disgrace". UConn has been one of top programs in the country. If the football team was playing UF,Ohio State or LSU the end results would be the same: A loss with learning adjustments-experience.
ReplyDeleteOur B-ball program needs all the support it can get as the program doesnt get near the support as football.
39 points isn't that bad! We were drubbed last year by over 51 points!
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeletePlaying these games helps the athletics budget. Sometimes you have to get blown out to stay afloat financially.
ReplyDeletethats true.
ReplyDeleteOkay, UConn is not in our league!
ReplyDeleteWe've never beaten these big schools in the past beginning of the season.
ReplyDeletePlaying teams of the caliber of UCONN is good for Florida A&M's basketball program. Yes, it was a lopsided defeat but it will only help the team in the long run to play against superior opponents. It also helps in recruiting. Every successful athletic program had to start somewhere- and most of them took their lumps. Look at where UCONN was about twenty years ago. They were a perennial doormat of the Big East for years. Florida A&M can also succeed with solid coaching, good recruiting and fan support. Let's not get discouraged folks.
ReplyDeleteSpin doctors,
ReplyDeleteSo, how do you explain why UConn could only beat Morgan State 69-65? Can we expect the MSU Bears to beat FAMU by 35? If this is going to be the case, then MSU, Hampton, NCA&T or Howard is NOT in our league.

FAMU basketball--like football-- gets no free pass for be a national disgrace! The only thing one can learn from losing by 40 is how to be a better loser!
