BOG task force highlights FAMU's progress

Ninety-two percent of the financial and operational problems plaguing Florida A&M University have been corrected, according to a report by Jacksonville-consulting firm Accretive Solutions.

The firm was hired by the Board of Governors' FAMU task force in November to determine if new administrators found remedies to maladies eating at the university.

Already 48 areas such as bank account reconciliations, timely employee payrolls and accounting records approved by trustees. The report suggested FAMU still had work to do with respect to bids with new contracts, contract reporting and vehicle-use reports. FAMU said it has already begun to address those concerns.

  3. WHERE ARE THE NAYSAYERS? NOW THAT FAMU HAS DONE SOMETHING GOOD, DO THEY HAVE ANY COMMENTS? THEY ARE SHOCKED AND SURPRISED THAT A BLACK MAN CAN DO SOMETHING RIGHT. THE SAD REALITY IS THAT WE HAVE THE SKILLS TO DO RIGHT. IT IS JUST THAT WE GET CAUGHT UP IN TOO MUCH BS AND LOSE FOCUS. CONGRATS! TO DR. AMMONS AND HIS TEAM!
