  1. Our track teams poor performance are the result of 6 DIFFERENT Athletic Directors in the past 8 years. Instability in Athletics and Academics will result in poor performance everytime.

Bill Hayes must provide the Men's & Women's track teams the resources (assistants, updated facilities, etc.) if he wants them to succeed.

  2. so are you suggesting that the other MEAC teams have better facilities? also, while there might have been six different ADs, the track coaches have remained the same and we've consistently fallen flat over a sustained period of time.

  3. I agree. Even though famu had several athletic directors. The coaches did not change. Therefore, there is no excuses.

  4. I understand 6:33 point. The coaching didn't change, but the support and management did. When you ask your track team to cut their Christmas breaks short because they will be leaving Friday for a track meet at TSU only to be told on THURSDAY (the day before departure) by the AD that we don't have any money on our credit card to make the trip, then that definitely affects the team and the coaches performance. The coaches scheduled the Penn Relays, but were told at the last minute there were no funds to make the trip. Instead, they had to go to Troy State on a bus and return the same day. That destroys morale on the team and makes the athletes wonder why in the hell they came to FAMU in the first place. There has been total dysfunction in our Athletic Department. Now tell me that won't affect a coach and his athletes.

  5. It's embarrassing and counterproductive for our track coaches to communicate interest in athletes and get committments, but our AD will not approve the scholarship offers until it's too late. Other colleges make the offer while our AD is dragging his feet. So we end up with walkons and average track athletes. We can't expect to be competitive when our AD doesn't support the very programs under his administration.

  6. FAMU will see and hear alot of things about he new AD. He's not knowlegable about NCAA rules or understand the commitment to upgrade a university sports program. I still say he dosen't have a clue. He's just on of Ammons do-boys.
