Off Topic: Gas prices reach record high

Another day and another world record for the price of crude oil. Today's record high nears $124 a barrel "as traders weighed a rise in the dollar to a two-month high against news of a fall in U.S. diesel stockpiles." The price has "climbed by about $13 over the last week in a rally" blamed upon the declining dollar.
Meanwhile, the Iranian oil minister says crude prices can conceivably hit $200/bbl within six months, which would translate into about $7 a gallon at the pump. Ouch.
The escalating fuel prices are triggering higher costs in the transportation, food and energy sectors. Delta Airlines has announced a series of fuel "surcharges" including adding "$110 on its Los Angeles-Honolulu roundtrip flights."

ReplyDeleteWell what the public needs to do is rally the legislature to invest more in public transportation....we got to face the fact that gas prices will never decline, so just like Europe already do...we should invest into public transportation, and more fuel efficient vehicles.
