Nina Gilbert,a broadcast journalism student from Chicago, died in a one car accident early Sunday morning when the car she was riding in left the road. The Florida Highway Patrol said it received a call at 4:50 a.m. about a rollover car.
Others in the car traveling with Gilbert were Latoyia Barnes, Julie Ngyuen, and Camilla Griffin. At last report, Griffin and Barnes were taken to in Shans Hospital in Gainesville.
Gilbert, was driving back to Tallahassee from Gainesville when the accident occurred.
Gilbert had been a member of the FAMU bowling team and served as the Vice President of the Chicago Club. She is the second FAMU student to die in a car accident on I-10 this year.

Getting a call from the police in the middle of the night (or morning or afternoone when you know your child is away from home) is the one call that no parent ever wants to receive. Condolences.
