Rattlers battle Hornets, but come up short in OT

FAMU dropped a heartbreaker to defending MEAC Champs Delaware State last night in Dover. The 35-28 loss drops the Rattlers to 1-1 on the season.

If their is a silver lining to last night's loss to DSU, it is that the Rattlers didn't give up. Fortunately, we have plenty of time to regroup for before our next game with Howard U. 16 days.

  1. Most exciting game that's I've experienced with the Rattlers in years...sure wish we could've taken home the victory, though. All in all we fought hard and I'm so proud of our team. The won but it wasn't without a good fight.

  2. I must say that I thought we were going to get whipped last night, but I am surprisingly still excited about what's to come...not disappointed...great game. It ain't over.

DSU we'll see you in the playoffs!

  3. FAMU won't see DSU in the playoffs. I really doubt the MEAC will have two teams in the FCS playoffs. This was a well played game for the most part. Hopefully, Pulley will learn the offense quickly and the defense will figure out how to stop the run. FAMU will be hard pressed to win the MEAC if it can't stop the run. The Rattlers played better than I expected. I look forward to seeing them smash Howard.

  4. The Rattlers hung in there last night and almost pulled it out. They gave it a good fight and that is all we can ask for.

I don't see too many more "Ls" this season!

    Let's go Rattlers!!!!

  5. Let's just hope Taylor doesn't lose the next game. You know if he does, folks'll be calling for his head on a stick. Please, please dont let him lose the fourth one, even if he loses the 3rd. If he loses the 4th game, even by one point, the man will prabably have to sneak out of town on a Greyhound bus, 'cause we can turn on a brotha real quick-like.

  6. in his own words, Coach Taylor acknowledged that a game comes down to 5-6 special teams plays. And those 5-6 plays will make the difference between a loss and a win. we fumbled twice on special teams, and they scored twice off of those errors. if those guys were able to protect the ball better, we'd be 2-0 right now.

oh well i'm very proud of the HEART this RATTLER team showed last nite! For the second week in a row, the defense came out in the second half and made major adjustments to impede the run. that's a symptom of excellent coaching!

did you guys see Pulley come right out swingin the axe like a FAMU vet? i'm very excited about the future of our young, talented team!

And "if" we had scored a few more points, we would have won the game. But we didn't. So "if" ain' holding up the banner right about now. It's "since" we didn't do whatever it was we would have liked to have seen done that counts. "Cause the long & short of "if" is not the bottom line. It's the final score that tells the tale. (Hey, I'm just tryin' to bring some humor here. I ain' hatin'. Our boys done "good." Awighht?
