This morning, Dr. James H. Ammons will be officially installed as FAMU’s 10th president. The ceremony is scheduled for 10:10 a.m. at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.
Program participants will include: Florida CFO Alex Sink, U.S. Congressman Allen Boyd, State Sen. Al Lawson, Tallahassee Mayor John Marks, Leon County Commission Chairwoman Jane Sauls, Board of Governors Chairwoman Sheila McDevitt, FAMU Trustees Chair Bill Jennings, Fort Valley State University President Larry E. Rivers, Turner Theological Seminary President John Green, and former FAMU President Frederick S. Humphries.
Judge John Lewis, of the First District Court of Appeal, will administer the oath of office.
Why is this happening a year(?) or more after he arrived?
ReplyDeleteWhat took so long?
Just look at it like this: we have more to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteHappy Homecoming 2008!!
Traditionally, university inaugurations take place after a president has served one year.
ReplyDeleteI agree 6.22. But that's FAMU.They don't know what tradition is. And Ammons will leave real soon. He's not healthy.
