Florida A&M played homecoming spoiler on the leg of Trevor Scott who kicked a 26-yard field goal with 4 seconds left to lift the Rattlers to a 31-28 victory over Norfolk State on Saturday.
Curtis Pulley completed 13 of 27 passes for 252 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 101 yards on 13 carries for the Rattlers (6-2, 2-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Philip Sylvester added 105 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.
The Spartans Dennis Brown completed 22 of 37 passes for 192 yards with one touchdown and one interception, adding 131 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries for the Spartans (2-6, 1-4).
FAMU outgained Norfolk State 464-371, and overcame five turnovers to win.
The 31-28 Florida A&M win sent the Spartans to their fifth consecutive loss despite jumping ahead with a 14-0 lead.
Pulley's ability to escape the blitz stymied NSU much of the afternoon, and in the end proved fatal for the Spartans.

NSU played over their heads. It was their Homecoming and they stepped it up big time. I am glad FAMU pulled t out. Morgan State beat Delaware State last week. Should be a good game this weekend...
