Curtis Pulley ran for 132 yards and three touchdowns to lead Florida A&M to a 45-24 win over Hampton as the Rattlers (8-3, 4-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored 35 straight points to overcome an early 10-0 deficit.
Philip Sylvester added 92 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Florida A&M. The Rattlers have won five of their past six games, while Hampton (5-5, 4-3 MEAC) has lost four in a row.
The game marked the first time the teams have played since Joe Taylor left Hampton after last season to become Florida A&M coach. Taylor coached the Pirates for 16 years, compiling a 136-49-1 record. Jerry Holmes replaced Taylor at Hampton.

ReplyDeleteTaylor has done a great job this year. This team is definitely the second best team in the MEAC. The Morgan State loss is still bothering me, but it is what it is. SC State will represent the conference well in the playoffs.
