The FAMU College of Law’s Center for International Law and Justice (CILJ) will sponsor a "Meet the Editors and Authors Panel Discussion" to commemorate the Fourth Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.The discussion will center on the highly acclaimed book titled “Hurricane Katrina: America’s Unnatural Disaster” (University of Nebraska Press, 2009) edited by Jeremy I. Levitt and Matthew C. Whitaker. Levitt serves as associate dean for International Programs and distinguished professor of International Law at FAMU’s College of Law. Whitaker serves as an associate professor of History, Philosophy and Religious Studies at Arizona State University.
Commenting on the book, famed intellectual Cornel West stated, “Professors Levitt and Whitaker have produced the book on Katrina we’ve all been waiting for. Don’t miss it!”
The panel will include noted professors from the University of Miami, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Florida International University and Northern Illinois University.
