The Rattlers will not be alone in suiting up for a "guarantee game." Dozens of other Football Championship Subdivision teams will face Football Bowl Subdivision powerhouses in exchange for large checks this season.
A recent Yahoo! article listed some of the biggest mismatches.
1. Western Carolina at Alabama , Nov. 17: A matchup with a FCS school against the #2 ranked team in the preseason AP Poll, this amounts to a scrimmage right before the Iron Bowl against Auburn.
2. Towson at LSU, Sept. 29: LSU, ranked #3 in the preseason AP Poll, plays the Towson Tigers sandwiched between road games at Auburn and Florida.
3. Florida A&M at Oklahoma, Sept. 8: Since the formation of the Big XII, Oklahoma had Texas A&M on the schedule every year. Now that Texas A&M has left for the SEC, the A&M on the Oklahoma schedule is Florida A&M.
4. Tennessee Tech at Oregon, Sept. 15: Right before Oregon gets into its defense of its Pac-12 championship, it gets to "scrimmage" against Tennessee Tech.
5. Georgia Southern at Georgia Nov. 17: Between rivalry games against Auburn and Georgia Tech, Georgia will be taking it easy against Georgia Southern.
6. Savannah State at Florida State, Sept. 8: Oliver Luck, West Virginia 's athletic director, decided to drop the home-and-home series with Florida State in 2012 and 2013 Oliver's bigger concern that weekend may be his son Andrew 's first NFL regular season game.
