The FAMU interim administration has suspended the all-female
Torque Dance Team after receiving an anonymous tip about an alleged hazing
incident within the organization.
According to FAMU officials, a parent contacted the
university and claimed that students in the dance group were hazed off-campus during
the Labor Day weekend.
"We have zero tolerance for hazing," Interim
President Larry Robinson said. "It is unconscionable that a student
organization would participate in any hazing activity considering what has
transpired in the past year."
The dance team will remain on suspension until the
university's investigation is complete.
