Bob Norman, an investigative reporter with ABC’s Local 10 in Miami, is blowing the whistle on what he’s described as a “dirty trick” aimed at misleading Broward County citizens who are preparing to vote for their District Five School Board representative.

“With record numbers of early voters swarming to the polls, you can bet there are going to be some dirty tricks pulled. And we've found the first one,” Norman wrote on his blog.

Norman found that some early voters have been given a flyer called “The Obama Voters Guide.” It is apparently designed to look like it was produced by the reelection campaign of U.S. President Barack Obama. The flyer has the president’s picture and his campaign slogan “Yes We Can” on it.

“It's a complete sham,” Norman said.

“The easiest tell-tale sign that it's a dirty trick is the listing of School Board candidate Torey Alston on the card,” he continued.

The flyer urges voters to support Torey, but Obama has not endorsed any candidate in Broward County’s District Five School Board race. Torey, a Republican, is not even a member of the president’s political party.

Torey’s run-off opponent is Rosalind Osgood, a Democrat. She responded to the report of the so-called “Obama Voters Guide” in an interview with Norman.

“She said a woman in line told her that Corey Alston, Torey's twin brother and campaign maestro, had been there earlier handing out the same cards,” Norman wrote.

Norman said he has asked Torey to comment on the “Obama Voters Guide” and will provide updated coverage as soon as he receives a response.
