Kevin Marindich, a member of last year’s conference
championship team, earned the MEAC Athlete of the Week honor for his
performance in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Gold Meet. The 5-9,
132 sophomore from Nairobi, Kenya finished seventh in the race with a time of
25:07.07, helping the Rattlers win fifth place, overall.
This is the second time this season that the FAMU men’s
cross country team has had an athlete named MEAC Athlete of the Week. Elias Chesire was MEAC Athlete of the Week
(Sept. 18) for his performance in the Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the
University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
