(HR). Ingram, whose appointment began Nov. 22, comes to FAMU after serving as an assistant vice president and chief HR and diversity officer at Florida State University (FSU) for more than 10 years.
While at FSU, Ingram was responsible for the development,
administration and direction of the institution’s entire HR organization. In
addition, she was charged with the development and implementation of FSU’s
Diversity and Inclusion Initiative.
“I am excited about the opportunity to join the FAMU team
and look forward to working with all members of the campus community in the
delivery of high-quality HR services and systems to the organization,” Ingram
said.
As she settles into her new position, one of Ingram’s
priorities is ensuring that FAMU’s HR department serves as a strategic partner
and collaborator with the university’s varied stakeholders. She envisions an HR
team that will “strive to deliver HR systems, tools and services to Florida
A&M University in a manner exemplifying professionalism, excellence,
integrity, leadership, teamwork and with the utmost respect for diversity and
inclusion.”
Prior to her stint at FSU, Ingram worked in the private
sector for various Fortune 500 companies, including serving as the director of
Quaker Food & Beverages’ diversity and community relations division, which
served 7,000 employees. While at Quaker (an arm of PepsiCo), Ingram also worked
as the director of human resources for five of the corporation’s marketing
teams including Gatorade and US Foods. Additionally, Ingram previously worked
with Quaker North America’s New Work Systems as the director of labor
relations.
Ingram’s extensive experience in human resources began at
the University of Illinois, where she served in multiple capacities including
personnel officer and chief labor negotiator. She earned her undergraduate
degree in history from Livingston University, a private historically black
college, and her master’s degree and juris doctorate through a joint degree
program at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
Ingram is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association,
the Society for Human Resources Management and the College and University
Professional Association for Human Resources.
