On Monday, Fuller, who is currently FAMU’s interim head
football coach, send out a Twitter message stating that he was no longer under
consideration for the permanent job.
“In spite of fact that I was told I would not be considered
as a finalist for the head coaching job, I am firmly behind the president and leadership
at FAMU that the best decisions for moving the athletics program forward is
begin considered and that the president is working her plan,” he wrote.
According to website Football Scoop, Simmons, who is the
offensive coordinator at Alcorn State, could soon be named the head coach of
Prairie View A&M.
“Sources tell us Alcorn State offensive coordinator Willie
Simmons has accepted the head coaching offer at Prairie View and will be announced
tomorrow,” Football Scoop posted on Monday.
