Boles-Melvin began her career in higher education in 1996 at
Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee as an Admission/Records
Specialist. She has worked for more than a decade within the Florida College
System with tenures at Valencia College as Director of Admissions and
Registration, and Seminole State College of Florida as Director of
Registration/Registrar. In addition, she has served as a Student Life Skills
adjunct professor, both in the classroom and online, with Valencia College.
Among her professional accomplishments, Boles-Melvin was featured as Innovative Leader in The Successful Registrar publication in 2014, and as an Excellence in Education Honoree with the Black History Committee of Orange County, Florida in 2011. She has additional accolades with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA)/Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SASCA) Mid-Managers Institute; and The Chair Academy for Leadership Development.
Boles-Melvin has served as a mentor with Take Stock in
Children and is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars
and Admissions Officers. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Austin
Peay State University and a Master of Public Administration from Troy State
University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern
University.
