Ken Riley's talents have taken him to places beyond his wildest dreams.

Since leaving Polk County as a bright-eyed high school star, he's played and coached on football fields in a multitude of cities across the country. He's shared victories and magical moments with people from all walks of life. On Saturday in Atlanta, the Bartow native was enshrined in the Black College Football Hall of Fame.

Riley shared the spotlight with six other gridiron greats in a formal affair which took place at the College Football Hall of Fame.

"This is a great honor. I am happy to be a part of group of athletes that aren't just known from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, but they're nationally known," Riley said. "These guys are some great individuals who not only did great things in the NFL but in life."

Riley spoke of his glory days at Florida A&M University, where he played quarterback under legendary head coach Jake Gaither. As the signal caller for the Rattlers from 1965-68, Riley was 23-7 while winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) during each season on campus.
