FAMU engineering alumna elected to State of Michigan Board of Education

Florida A&M alumna Pamela Pugh was elected to the State of Michigan Board of Education during the November 4, 2014 general election. 

Pugh is the owner of Regeneration LLC. Prior to starting her business, she was employed by the Saginaw County Department of Public Health for 14 years. Pugh’s previous work includes being at the forefront of the fight to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in Michigan.

Her current work with Regeneration LLC includes projects aimed at fostering the wellness of young children by addressing systems and programs that involve the physical, social, and emotional aspects of their development. Pugh’s research entails development of an instrument to assess and identify households and neighborhoods that pose the greatest environmental health risk to children.

Pugh received a doctorate of public health (DrPH) from the University of Michigan School Of Public Health and a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Florida A&M University.
