University of Florida Senior
Delanie Gourley hurled
the No. 1-ranked program's second ever post-season no-hitter in a 9-0 victory over Florida
A&M University (FAMU) in the opening round of the National Collegiate Athletic
Association (NCAA) Gainesville Regional. Gourley also threw the program's first
ever no-hitter in the post-season against which was also against Florida
A&M back in 2014.
Gourley went 19-4 from the mound while FAMU’s Kenya Pereira
was 11-12.
FAMU reached base only once in the game via a full-count
walk from Pereira to lead off the third inning. Gourley bounced back to
record a pair of strikeouts and ended the frame on a ground out to Jaimie
Hoover at third base.
