Florida A&M University freshman Candelaria Herrera was
named the Mid-Eastern Athletic
Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Week.
Herrera (6-1, Fr., MB, San Juan, Argentina) was key in
Florida A&M’s home win over North Florida this past Tuesday, racking up 13
kills (on a .455 hitting percentage) to go along with four total blocks, three
service aces and three digs. In fact, Herrera clinched the match with an ace on
match point, giving the Rattlers the five-set victory.
