Yesterday, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference named Florida
A&M freshman Candelaria Herrera its Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the
second time this season.
Herrera (6-1, Fr., MB, San Juan, Argentina) hit .617 for the
weekend, helping the Rattlers to a pair of straight-set victories in conference
play. She had 12 kills (and just one error) against North Carolina Central,
hitting .786 for the match and adding two service aces, before adding 13 kills,
two total blocks and an ace against North Carolina A&T State. In that
match, Herrera committed just three errors and hit .500.
