FAMU Law applauds Gilbert for being one its "shining stars"

Florida A&M University College of Law Interim Dean LeRoy Pernell recently applauded graduate LaDray B. Gilbert on his receipt of a Distinguished Alumni Award in the Legal Profession during the FAMU National Alumni Association Annual Convention, Black-tie Gala. The event was held May 25th at the Rosen Centre Hotel, in Orlando.

Gilbert was among 26 honorees selected for excelling in their career, with outstanding civic involvement, and making exceptional contributions to the University and the FAMU National Alumni Association. More than 400 alumni, family and friends from across the state and nation attended the event.

“I am honored to be a dean to many brilliant scholars and graduates of the FAMU College of Law,” said Pernell. “Mr. Gilbert is one of our shining stars and is much deserving of this award.”

Gilbert received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the FAMU College of Law in 2008. He is currently Managing Attorney representing personal injury law at The Gilbert Firm, P.A. in Mariana, Florida.  Gilbert has associate attorneys in Atlanta, Georgia; Montgomery, Alabama; and Orlando, Florida.

National Alumni Association members nominated alumni for awards in the categories of athletics, community service, business, medicine, technology, law, education, government, military and health.
