The legacy of Marching 100 founder Dr. William P. Foster will live on through a collaboration of the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA), Music for All (MFA), and National Band Association (NBA). The organizations have joined forces to create the William P. Foster Project to support bands in underserved communities.
According to the program's website, the Dr. William P. Foster Project will focus on three areas:
Mentorship
Develop "a network of peer consultants committed to connecting with individual teachers and leading band programs in underserved schools and communities to support their efforts in ensuring excellence in musical opportunities for all students."
Award Excellence
"Recognizes quality programs serving historically disadvantaged student populations. This exciting initiative will honor select educators, and their band programs, which are challenging students and reaching a high level of excellence."
Best Practices
Assemble "a growing collection of articles, videos, and links for band directors to access and help to support of their students and schools."
