Bethune-Cookman University dashed Florida A&M University’s hopes of a conference title and ticket to the Celebration Bowl by beating the Rattlers 33-19 in Orlando. The Florida Blue Florida Classic drew a crowd of 52,142 to the Camping World Stadium.

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced on Saturday that North Carolina A&T is the 2018 conference champion.

“By virtue of Florida A&M University’s loss to Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina A&T won its second straight outright MEAC Championship with a dominant 45-0 win over rival N.C. Central. The Aggies clinched their third trip and second consecutive birth to the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl,” the MEAC said in a statement.

The Rattlers end their season 6-5 overall and 5-2 in the MEAC.

Ryan Stanley completed 27 of 45 pass attempts for 305 yards. He connected with Marcus Williams and George Webb for TDs. Ricky Henrilus led the Rattlers in rushing with 83 yards and Xavier Smith was the top receiver with 127 yards.

Terry Jefferson paced the FAMU defense by picking up five solo and three assisted tackles.
