Alpha Phi Alpha general president will serve as speaker of MLK Convocation

Everett Ward, Ph.D., general president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and St. Augustine University, will be keynote speaker for FAMU’s Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation on January 10, the university announced yesterday.
Alpha Phi Alpha is the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American men. The fraternity has over 290,000 members of all races and more tan 730 active chapters throughout the world.  Dr. King was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha. 
Ward incorporated King’s urgent call for action on civil rights in his Alpha Phi Alpha national theme, “Urgency of Now.” 
Ward holds degrees from St. Augustine's College, NC State University, and a PhD from NC A&T State University.
