The FAMU School of Architecture and Engineering Technology is preparing a study abroad experience that will connect construction management students with international industry practices, historic architecture and Italian culture this spring in Milan, Italy.

The spring break trip will focus on the connections among construction, architecture, culture and industry in one of Europe’s prominent design centers.

Construction management students will have opportunities to visit construction sites and employers, gaining insight into professional practices and the international building industry. The visits are intended to complement classroom instruction with exposure to construction activity in a different national context.

The itinerary also includes the Duomo di Milano, the city’s celebrated Gothic cathedral, where students can encounter centuries of architectural design and craftsmanship. Excursions to the Veneto region, including Verona, will introduce participants to additional examples of Italian architecture, history and cultural traditions.

Although the School of Architecture and Engineering Technology is leading the initiative, the opportunity is open to FAMU students from every major, extending the experience to those with interests beyond construction and design.
