Donervin Vastin, a FAMU student, is helping to lead hurricane relief efforts in Tallahassee for those affected in the Bahamas by Hurricane Dorian.

"People there are still in shock. You have to start over," said Vastin.
"This was such a personal blow for me. It hit home literally. I had a lot of close family and friend that were affected," he said.

Once the storm passed and debris started to settle, he knew he needed to do something to help.
"It felt horrible being here and not being able to help the people back home physically."

Vastin is working with Sentry Self Service Storage off Tharpe Street near Mission Road in Tallahassee, who donated two storage units, to collect food, clothing, and supplies to be shipped to the ravaged island.

If you are still interested in dropping off items, you have until the end of this week.
