FAMU dropped its ninth straight Florida Classic to the Bethune Cookman Wildcats by a score of 31-27, in front of announced crowd of 55,730 fans at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

Bethune Cookman offense exploited the Rattler defense to rack up 467 yards in total offense, passing for 269 yards and rushing for 198 yards.  At times it seemed as if FAMU’s very young defensive secondary did not get off the bus.

And, at times quarterback Ryan Stanley’s accuracy or execution was just not there.
Add to this a blocked field goal, and a missed extra point and those four points could have been the difference in the ballgame.

The Rattlers finished 9-2 on the season (7-1 MEAC), its best record in a decade. BCU finished 7-4 overall (5-3 MEAC).  FAMU is ineligible for postseason play this year.
