Just days after releasing its 2020 football schedule with three home football games, the FAMU Athletic Department, yesterday, introduced a new annual giving campaign --- the Rattler Athletic Fund (RAF).  RAF appears to be a replacement for the popular for Investment in Champions campaign and includes many of the same features along several new giving levels.

What is apparent from the plan, FAMU Athletics intends to charge the same fees for the North End Zone Club or the three home dates in 2020 as they did for six home games in 2019. Last year, Investment in Champions (INC) contributors saw the price of their annual packages increase by 5.5%, while seeing the basketball tickets removed.

At first glance, the RAF program has five new giving levels below last years' lowest INC  level --- ($25) Student Rattler Club; Young Alumni ($50); ($150) Quarterback Club; ($250) Rattler Booster; and ($500) Venom Club.  There are two new giving levels added beyond last year's top level --- AD’s Circle ($10,000+) and Gaither Society ($25,000 +).

The two highest giving levels promise a quarterly lunch with the AD,  opportunities for exclusive travel with the Rattler football team on charter flights, and a signed football helmet.

Like past FAMU athletic funding raising campaigns, the RAF makes a lot a of promises such as regular email updates, special discounts, STRIKE magazine recognitions, and special invitations, but if the past is any indicators those promises aren’t worth the paper they are written on.  For example, FAMU Athletics hasn’t sent out an email update since March 2018.

Rattler Athletic Fund donors, like the Investment in Champions campaign , provides critical financial support to FAMU Athletics and helps to enhance the overall experience of the student athlete.
