FL Gov. Ron DeSantis said Monday that he is close to filing two vacancies on the the FAMU Board of Trustees.  The seats have been open for several months.  Major General Gary McCoy (Ret.), appointed by Gov. Rick Scott resigned in August 2017 and Mathew Carter II resigned last September.  Both were gubernatorial appointees to the FAMU BOT.

By law, the Governor appoints six trustees to the FAMU BOT and the Board of Governors appoints five.  The student government and faculty senate president have automatic seats.
