The FAMU Rattlers men’s basketball team defeated the Delaware State Hornets in double overtime Saturday 97-95 in Dover, DE. The Rattlers went ahead on a Brendon Myles three-pointer with 2:50 left in the second overtime and held on for the victory.
The game featured 16 ties and 13 lead changes. FAMU trailed, 37-34, at the half and needed a Rod Melton, Jr. layup with five seconds remaining in regulations to send the game into overtime.
FAMU extended its winning streak to four games and improved to 10-13 overall (8-4 MEAC), while the Hornets fell to 3-21 overall (2-8 MEAC). Next up for the Rattlers is Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday night in Princess Anne, MD.
