Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a FAMU grad, is rumored to be on Democratic presidential nominee front-runner Joe Biden’s short list of potential picks as his running-mate.
Biden is expected to lock up the nomination in the next few weeks.
During last night’s nationally televised debate Biden said he would choose a woman as his running-mate.
Prior to this week, much of the speculation about potential Black women vice-presidential choices revolved around the usual suspects of Stacey Abrams and Kamala Harris. Bottoms’ name has recently surfaced into the collective consciousness of politicos.
Bottoms was one of the first to endorse Biden, giving her nod back in June 2019. Since, she has actively campaigned for Biden in critical states and served as a campaign surrogates.
