The FAMU Bragg Stadium COVID-19 Testing Site will continue operation until at least June 1.
“The decision to extend the testing site is informed by continued interest and need, particularly as the state engages in a re-opening process,” said Cynthia Harris, Ph.D., director of the FAMU Institute of Public Health and one of the organizers of the site.
The latest extension means the Bragg Memorial Stadium location, which was initially supposed to be open for two weeks, will be in operation for at least five weeks. During that time, operators extended the testing capacity from 200 to 400 tests daily. More than 6,000 individuals have been tested.
The walk-up site is open daily, including weekends and Memorial Day, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tests are free, and no physician referral is required. The site is open to anyone who wants to be tested – symptomatic, asymptomatic and those who want to know their status. Residents can also schedule an appointment by calling the Leon County Health Department at 850-404-6399
