While city and county staff work out the terms of a formal grant agreement to transfer the $10 million in Blueprint funds to FAMU, the university can begin moving forward with its plans to make critical repairs to Bragg Memorial Stadium.

If the University adheres to the tentative construction timetable it submitted to Blueprint, Bragg Stadium may not be available for the spring football season.  The timeline calls for repairs on the stadium to begin on November 20, with stadium deck pan demolition to begin December 20 –February 21.

The delayed 2020 football season is now scheduled to begin February 27, 2021 according to the an MEAC press release.  The truncated six game season would last through April 16-18, 2021, with the first ever MEAC Championship game pitting the South Division Champ vs the North Division Champ.

According to the schedule, the stadium will be well the repair phases of its makeover which are supposed get going from February to July, 2021.  FAMU's emphasis is to have much of the repair work completed in time for the Rattlers' first home game in the SWAC Conference on September 21, 2021.

So, if there is a Spring MEAC football, Bragg Stadium may not be available or perhaps we will be using just one side.
