The FAMU men's basketball team dropped its season opener to Florida Gulf Coast 65-56 last night. FGCU outscored the Rattlers 40-14 in the paint.
Kamron Reaves scored 15 points for the Rattlers, and Johnny Brown added 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
Overall, the Rattlers committee 20 turnovers, 12 of them in the second half with many of them leading to baskets for the Eagles as they put started to put the game away.
