The Rattler basketball team (1-5, 0-0 MEAC), lost to Georgia Tech 74-64, Friday in Atlanta. FAMU had three Rattlers scored in double-figures, and out-scored Tech 40-39 in the second half. But it wasn’t enough to overcome a 11-point halftime deficit.
The leading scorer the Rattlers was MJ Randolph, with 17 points and six rebounds and three assists. Jalen Speer scored 12 points, on 5-of-7 shooting with one assist and one steal and Evins Desir poured in 10 points with four rebounds and one steal.
For the game, FAMU shot 43.6 percent from the field (24-of-55) and 41.2 percent from three-point range.

The Rattlers were set to take on the University of Florida, tonight, in Gainesville, but that game was postposed Thursday after the Gators abruptly paused all non-conference contest. FAMU will now travel to Columbia, S.C. to take on the University of South Carolina on Jan. 2, before opening MEAC Conference play on Jan. 9 at home against North Carolina Central University.
