FAMU to return to in-person spring graduations

FAMU, last week announced that it would again hold in-person graduation celebrations this year.  Yesterday, the university released the schedule for those events which will be held April 23 through April 25.

Each ceremony will be limited to 250 graduates who are allowed four guests each.

The ceremonies are for Spring 2021 graduates only.

The ticketed events will be held at Bragg Memorial Stadium. In the event of inclement weather, ceremonies will take place either in the Lawson Center or Gaither Gymnasium.

The College of Law ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, May 10 at the Front yard at Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts, 445 S. Magnolia Ave., Orlando.

Here is the lineup by college or school:

  • Friday, April 23, 6:30 p.m.:  School of Allied Health Sciences, School of Environment and the College of Education.
  • Saturday, April 24, 9:30 a.m.:  College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health and School of Business and Industry
  • Saturday, April 24, 6:30 p.m.: College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities as well as a military commissioning ceremony.
  • Sunday, April 25, 9:30 a.m.: College of Science and Technology, the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences, School of Architecture and Engineering Technology, School of Journalism and Graphic Communication, the College of Engineering and School of Nursing.
