Subramanian Ramakrishnan, Ph.D., a professor for the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, has been selected as a 2021-2022 Leadership Fellow for the Center for the Advancement of STEM Leadership (CASL).
Ramakrishnan will be a part of a cohort from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The cohort will be empowered to envision, inspire, and transform institutional climates for broadening participation.
The 12-month CASL Leadership Program will include a combination of live webinars as well as virtual and in-person residencies. Participants will also benefit from guest presentations from HBCU and other higher education leaders who will provide insight on theory and practice of leadership to expand STEM engagement.
CASL is funded by the National Science Foundation and works to "substantially broaden the participation of students who have been marginalized from the United States STEM higher education." The Center leverages HBCUs' expertise to determine the correlation between leadership and broadening participation in STEM.
