J-School alum named "Best News Anchor" in Michigan

Donovan Long, a 2015 summa cum laude graduate of the FAMU School of Journalism and Graphic Communications, has been named “Best News Anchor” in Michigan for 2020 by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Long is the weekend and morning news anchor/reporter for WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids, MI. He’s a two-time Emmy and Associated Press Award-winning journalist. Long began his career at the WFXL in Albany, GA, before moving to the CBS affiliate in Knoxville, TN. While at FAMU, Long honed his skills at FAMU’s TV-20 news and was honored by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Southeast Journalism Conference and received a college Emmy Award.
