FAMU junior defensive back Markquese Bell was named to the 2021 Athlon Sports Preseason All-American team on Tuesday.
During the 2019 season, Bell burst onto the scene making 61 tackles with a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) leading five interceptions and two forced fumbles. Bell's performance earned him All-MEAC First Team, BOXTOROW All-American and Hero Sports Sophomore All-American accolades following the 2019 campaign.
Bell was a key component in helping lead FAMU to the 2019 Black College Football National Championship and a Top 25 finish. It was the first time since 2009 that the Rattlers completed a season nationally ranked.
