The Rattlers jumped on Grambling early, marching 82 yards in 10 plays on their opening drive with QB Rasean McKayconnecting with Jah'Marae Sheread on a 15 yards pass in the end zone to go up 7-0 with 10:27 remaining in the first quarter.
The win helped head coach Willie Simmons remain undefeated on homecoming during his three seasons as the head Rattler. The victory also helped FAMU go undefeated at home for the second season in a row. FAMU has a 10-game home winning streak.
The Rattler defense held the Tigers to 187 yards total offense and just three points on the afternoon. The Rattler offense, on the other hand, racked up 356 total yards, 210 of them by air –passing—and 146 yards rushing.
